Locked out from June 28th, 2010 to August 2nd, 2011.
Honeywell lays off 2 workers in violation of bargaining agreement to save $14.00. Over 100 scabs still present at the plant, some making $62.00/hour!
Contract language protects Union Workers from layoffs while contractors are present in the plant, but Honeywell's incompetent managers refuse to follow the agreement. More than 100 contract scabs are still present at the facility since the lockout ended and some make $62.00/hr plus $75.00-$100.00 per day in per diem. Laying off two workers that make only one third of that hourly rate seems to make a lot of sense.....
No one has forgotten Peter Dalpe's lies that were plastered all over Honeywell's website when he announced that the lockout was ending, "this agreement is both fair and equitable, and it will help reverse operating losses at the facility and help ensure it's long-term economic viability". Apparently, Honeywell actually needed that extra $14.00 and is willing to place two families in hardship to try and get it.
